Is this clash detection?

Accepted Answer

No. Clash detection compares 3D models and needs BIM, Revit, and a VDC department — which commercial jobs have and custom residential jobs do not. TrueStruct compares the two PDF sets you already have: it reads the architectural sheets and the structural sheets, and reports where they disagree, with the sheet number, grid location, and revision date behind every finding.

Do I need a BIM model?

No. TrueStruct works directly from the PDF sets the architect and engineer already issued. No model, no Revit, no special export. 3D mode rebuilds the house from those same sheets.

Do I need my architect or engineer to cooperate?

Accepted Answer

No. You upload the sets you were issued. Nobody else has to sign up, change software, or approve anything. The first they hear about it is the RFI you send them — which is the normal way you'd raise the question anyway, just written for you and citing both sheets.

What if my two sets came from different firms in different formats?

That's the normal case and the reason the product exists. The architect uses one package, the engineer uses another, and the sets are stamped weeks apart. TrueStruct reads each sheet's title block for its own stated scale and revision date, pairs the sheets, and compares extracted dimension text — never pixels — so a real dimensional error can't get absorbed by a visual fit.

Does my crew need to pay for seats?

No. Crew and field access are included at every tier with no seat minimum. One person puts $149 on a card and the whole crew can open the plans, see the pinned conflicts, and receive RFIs — in English, Spanish, or French, over email or WhatsApp.

Does it auto-fix the drawings?

Accepted Answer

No — that's the point. Every conflict is pinned and flagged, but a human adjudicates. RFIs ask the architect or EOR to confirm; the product never directs construction or marks a finding resolved on its own.

Yes. It is a per-project charge rather than a subscription cost, which makes it a clean line item on the client invoice — "3D structural conflict review" — the same way you would pass through any other consultant scope. What you charge for it is your call; nothing in your agreement with us restricts how you price your own work.

Up to five projects per month, which covers most custom builders running 2 to 15 starts a year. If you consistently start more than five sets a month, Business removes the cap and adds the team RFI workflow, Procore/ACC integration, an audit trail, and SSO.

Is field check ready for production use?

Accepted Answer

Field check is in beta. You can photograph what's built and get advisory observations vs the drawings — flags potential mismatches for a human to verify. Use it to catch things early, not as a sign-off.

Yes. The whole app is an offline-capable PWA. Captures, extractions, and findings queue locally and flush when the connection returns — built for slabs with no signal.
